Money, Money, Money. It's A Rich Man's World

Anyone seen "Mama Mia" yet?

You don't have to love Abba music to appreciate the movie. The actors alone make it worth your while to see it.

I particularly like the song that has these words in it: "Money, Money, Money...It's a Rich Man's World". It is so true today, unfortunately. What with the rich getting richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class is all but non-existent.

Which leads me to why I am sitting here writing. For those of us who are retired money is tight, but aren't we used to that? I mean we survived the 70's, 80's. We raised our children and learned to do without. But in the 90's we became spoiled, money flowed freely and everyone was living the American Dream. Now we have to pay for that dream. Our bubble has burst!

We can sit back and blame Wall Street, Washington, even the Auto Industry for not living up to their promises. But lets face it...we all share the blame for letting these people get away with taking, taking, taking for over 10 years. As long as it didn't touch us, we let it go.

Of course I don't think these bonuses that are going out are warranted; but haven't we as a nation condoned it in the past?

Anyway...think about it. The younger generation will have a harder time than we will, because they never learned to tighten their belts, we have. I don't like it as my belt is tight enough. But we will survive as a nation, it is how we survive that is in question.
